It has been 7 months since we posted our last huge changelog. We've been posting changelogs since we started TradesViz with the earliest one being from June 2020. Since then, we have reduced the frequency and increased the volume of features and the content of each change log so that it's easier for long-term users to read about the features and for new users to get a good idea of what has improved over a while on TradesViz.
For the last 7 months, we have been improving on a lot of aspects of TradesViz like simulation, new tabs, plenty of minor under-the-hood improvements, speed up, and also some large new features that are introduced for the first time ever in any online trading journal. TradesViz continues to be the leader in advanced trade journaling services provided at a value that's unheard of and our improvements and updates only show our commitment to our users on continually improving TradesViz to keep up with the feedback and requirements of the current generation of traders.
We've split up the improvements month by month and have highlighted the important features changed/updated/launched for that month so that you can easily track our progress.
May 2024
Introduction of trade plans tab along with the ability to link plans before a trade/day is made and the same feature created on notes tab also. Just like the notes tab, you can now organize and view all of your trade and day plans in a single page.
Multi-Simulation mult-layout mode: We introduced 10+ new layouts to the multi-simulator. Instead of just 4 charts in 2 rows, there are now pretty much all combinations of 2,3,4 charts in a grid thus allowing traders to choose a layout that resembles their actual trading layout.
Other updates/improvements:
- Improvements to relative volume calculations and fixed a few bugs
- Improve E-trade, Sierra, EdgeX, Cobra, TopStepX, DXtrade, RBC, CQG, Tradestation, Fidelity, moomoo, Clearstreet, Deribit, MT4, Schwab import modules
- Fix global sim bug with replaying trades
- Make table default pagination as 50
- Sort all tags in all tabs in alphabetical order, sort earnings by market cap in the day explore tab
- Add new shortcuts to function button/dropdown in dashboards

June 2024
Trade and day explore tabs (two of the most frequently visited tabs on TradesViz) are now 100% customizable. This is not just being able to hide some widgets or stats, we're talking about custom dashboard-level customization. Make TradesViz truly your own with custom day/trade explore layouts!
AI daily summary: The world's first summary feature in a trading journal that combines your trading data points + tags to give you short, actionable insights every single day. In our series of AI features, this is the most recent one. All our AI features continually get better as we keep updating our AI models. As a trader, you keep getting better insights, better answers, and eventually a better understanding of trading which will only help with improving your trading.
Other updates/improvements:
- Improve Thinkorswim, Bitget, ATAS, MT5, TradingView, Quantower, Heldentrader import modules

July 2024
We introduced options data for NSE (India) exchange: We initially launched options data, charting support for US assets back in 2022, but now we've received so much feedback and requests from Indian traders that we have had to add support for NSE also (did you know that NSE tops the world when it comes to daily options volume traded?). All Indian traders on TradesViz are now able to use features like options charting (intraday), options simulation, and also options chain with NSE assets and symbols.
Multiple layouts for options simulator: The multi-layout option we launched for multi-sim a few months back was so positively received that we decided to add a similar feature for the options simulator also (TradesViz is STILL the only online options chain simulator integrated with a trading journal ;)). You can now view the options chain and chart or table in the same row or in other combinations (a total of 8 unique combinations/layouts).
Other updates/improvements:
- Improve the pivot grid and fix few bugs
- Improve Tinkoff, BingX, Schwab, cTrader, and Tradelocker, FXCM, ByBit, UBS, Nelogica import modules
- Update all AI models
- Improve calendar responsiveness and UI
- Added strikes/expiries as columns to the main trades table
- Improve order placement across all simulators

- Improve MFE/MAE's calculation precision
+ Many more improvements, fixes, and updates!
Aug 2024
Fully revamped of our most popular features - the Trades chart view with the ability to save drawings for technical anlaysis. Here's an example of what you can do. You can view ALL your trades for a symbol across a date range and draw your technical anlaysis patterns - all of this will be saved. You can also pull up ANY chart (30,000+ symbols) and draw technical analysis patterns and that also will be saved so next time you visit any of these charts, you will see all your analysis intact!
A world's first - an online trading journal with a full-fledged options payoff chart. No one expected this, but we did it and now options traders can't get enough of it. We will be launching a one-click copy to the payoff tab soon (Dec 2024). This supports US and India options. All positions/option strategies are possible and you can view the payoff chart change live as you change the strikes or expires! Another very useful tool added to TradeViz's toolkit!
We just can't get enough of TradesViz users really enjoying the customization features! So we added the ability to customize even the sidebar! This has been especially useful to new traders who are looking for a very simple dashboard.
Other updates/improvements:
- Improve checkout experience when payment fails (Stripe)
- Add widescreen mode
- Add support for multi-timeframe exit and similar features for Indian options
- Improve Fyers, Zerodha, MT5, ThinkorSwim, Roboforex, IBKR, MT5, Multicharts, Vanguard, Saxobank import modules
- Fix currency issues in all simulators
- Database optimizations
+ Many more improvements, fixes, and updates!
Sep 2024
The day view tab: The tabs under the calendar section of TradesViz have been weekly, monthly, and yearly. We've always wanted to do a daily one - but not like the ones you have on other journals with infinite scrolling (which, by the way, is probably the worst UX design choice ever...) instead, one that shows essential day-based data with the advantages of tables. TradesViz v2.0 update has been a boon to data lovers users of Excel who love working with tables (simply because it's an element that has existed for decades and it.just.works) so we combined those two ideas and created a table with built-in charts (first time in TradesViz) showing running pnl, realized pnl and more. This has been one of the fastest-growing tabs by usage and first impressions of this feature/tab were extremely positive!
Another big one on TradesViz - also, a world's first: Stock screener results right in your dashboard delivered every day for US, IN, AU & CA. Yes, we're killing all of your other subscriptions. All you need is TradesViz ;)
This is powered by EZstockscreener.com - our very own advanced technical screener. We took all the popular screeners that traders mostly use online and created auto-updating screener lists that you can use on TradesViz directly. On top of this, you can easily add these symbols from this page to your watchlist or to notes or even share them on socials! This is the latest tool we've added to the TradesViz toolkit. What's next? let us know your feedback on what other non-journaling tools you would like to see!
Other updates/improvements:
- Improve eToro, Quantower, Sterling, Phemex import modules
- Cryptocurrency symbol updates
- Improve MAE/MAE calculation for options, improve best exit calculation
- Set default sort order for all tables
- Improve sync for Coinbase
- Extended data for futures and forex till 2018 (from 2021)
- Fix group apply for a day explore table
- Many updates to screener tables
- Add new sell/close buttons (% based) for simulators
+ Many more improvements, fixes, and updates!
Oct 2024
Tags table: So far, all traders have had to check the tags charts in the trades analysis section and the Platinum users could do really useful analysis on the pivot grid. But those are 2 extremes. We needed something in between and the solution was obvious: a tags table! We already had a symbol group, a day-grouped table so why didn't we add this earlier!? Well, we added it now. We realized this only after conversing with some users about how obvious this idea is and how we should have implemented this a lot earlier. Fun fact: Still, no journal has a tab dedicated to tags where you can filter/sort, do anlaysis, and charting.
One of the most loved features of TradesViz is our custom dashboard. With this new update, we are introducing a few new widget types and widget modes. With this, the already infinite customization ability of the custom dashboard gets even better. These widgets include pie charts, a single widget with 3/4 important and related stats, and alternative/simple modes for line and bar charts. The idea is to allow creative space-saving widgets but at the same time, without losing the meaning of the widget/visualization.
Other updates/improvements:
- Fix bugs with screener, advanced commissions settings
- Fix responsiveness in tab dropdowns on smaller screens
- Improve add trade UI
- Improve Trading212, Plus500, Rithmic import modules
- Improve running pnl algo
- Increase the list of tags shown in the auto-suggestion dropdown
- Optimize backend functions
- Fix bugs and improve the wins/losses chart for category type charts (symbol etc.)
- UI/UIX fixes for Safari browser
- Add seconds timeframe to S&P500 charts in the trade explore tab
- Fix sorting for some columns in the pivot and the main trades table
+ Many more improvements, fixes, and updates!
Nov 2024
It has been exactly one year after the launch of the pivotal TradesViz v2.0 which changed the face of journaling forever with advanced grids, interactive charts, and more. We wanted to add a new overview (main dashboard) based on the feedback we've received from our users. This new All-in-one dashboard is so carefully designed that it provides all the essential info that can be easily interpreted by any user without any complications or modifications required. Going forward this is our default dashboard for all new users (of course, you can always change back to the classic or one of the newer overview types! :))
Another first-time feature in trade journaling is dividend tracking on TradesViz. We were tired of having workarounds for this so we finally implemented a dedicated dividend tracking system. Enter dividends for any symbol and track, and visualize them using TradesViz's pivot grid + charts! Soon, this be fully automated! On top of tracking your trade/executions, withdrawals/deposits, you can now also track dividends in TradesViz (that's one less subscription for you in case you are using another dividend tracker...!)
Practice mode: We have simulators, seasonality, and fundamentals that can show you 1000s of charts, and data points but how can we use this for practicing? What if you are just too lazy to type in a symbol? No joke. This is from our own experience of using these tools. Think about this. When you think about stocks/symbols, off the top of your head, how many can you immediately name - the ones that you want to practice? 10? 50? ok, but there are tens of thousands. Do you realize just how much info and insights you are missing? The goal of this practice feature is to start exploring that unknown territory and start learning patterns you haven't seen charts you've never traded and symbols you've never heard of. Only when you leave your comfort zone will you realize your true potential and this practice tool is aimed at just that.
Other updates/improvements:
- Faster data updates for futures, faster MFE/MAE updates for all
- New MFE/MAE type introduced (theoretical vs trade level)
- Lots of improvements for auto calculation of advanced metrics
- Improve Deribit, Robinhood, Rithmic, Desjardins, MT5, Freedom finance, moomoo import modules
- Fix group by symbol missing symbol issue
+ Many more improvements, fixes, and updates!
The year is not over yet and we still have a couple of features and improvements to be released before 2024 concludes. What you see here is a combination of user feedback from traders of all experience and our own experience as traders and data scientists. The current state of journaling is still, lackluster due to excessively overhyped marketing with zero substance behind the product. You can read our state of trade journaling 2024 which pretty much remains the same as the 2023 version.
If you are a serious trader looking (new or experienced) for a long-term robust solution, TradesViz should be your option. Currently, TradesViz is an advanced trading journal for all asset types with access to a trading simulator, options flow, dividends tracker, notes/tags management, plans/checklist anlaysis, and many more tools. Over time, we have added many tools to TradesViz to increase the journal's effectiveness. For example, soon, it will be possible to one-click copy your trades to the options payoff chart to learn more about theoretical payoff and to adjust your strategy accordingly. We also introduced a stock screener which saves you the time of having 2 extra subscriptions and logging into another app to get the hottest/trending stocks of the day.
As there has been a significant increase in the total active users and the number of features, we are investing and spending more on creating educational resources for journaling on TradesViz so that onboarding to TradesViz or migration from another platform to TradesViz is seamless.
In summary, our last 7 months of development and improvements have been focused on many major areas of Tradesiz along with the introduction of new features - a lot of which were very positively received by the community. Most of this would not have been possible without our user's support and we are very grateful for all the feedback we have received from every single user of TradesViz. We hope for your continued support in the coming years to come also!
What are we going to do in 2025? You tell us :) Every feature, new breakthrough stats with a small idea, a spark in a conversation. Only you can help us with that. We will materialize that idea into reality. We have a track record of doing this for almost 5 years now :)
Custom dashboard profiles, more unification of data with AI, and more automation with existing data infused with AI are some of our ideas at the moment. We want to provide insights that are more than just charts and numbers. AI Q&A on TradesViz is already a hit and no other company has been able to replicate the safety, security, and performance we offer with our AI features. With the introduction of the screener, we have some crazy ideas we want to try, but only you can let us know how useful it is for you ;)
We will always look forward to your emails, chats, and feature requests! Your small hints and suggestions will cause ripples that affect tens of thousands of traders. So please do not hesitate to contact us with your ideas and feedback!
