First, we introduced a 100% custom dashboard. Next, we introduced many charting features that provided even more flexibility to how you view your trades.
After that, we introduced AI widgets that let you create the exact visualizations and stats you want.
We followed that up with custom trades table columns.
and then 100% custom commissions and fees, all grids/tables in TradesViz v2.0 are extremely customizable making the entire dashboard, the data you view, and visualize data possible to be tailor fit to YOU as a unique trader.
So far, this level of customization is unheard of nor has anyone even come close to TradesViz's versatility of features.
With this minor QoL update, we are making the home page's UI 100% custom with the ability to modify the sidebar to have just the tabs you want.
Here's how the new custom sidebar would look after setting it up (an example):
What this means is, you are now able to reorganize your tabs the way you want. It's impossible to design an interface that fits absolutely every single trader. That's why we are so focused on providing a level of flexibility to the point where a user can pretty much mold their journal to their specific needs and this is one step forward towards that goal.
To edit your sidebar, click on the small gear icon at the top right corner of your sidebar and you will see a popup very similar to our tag groups edit popup.
All you have to do is drag the tabs you want from the left side to the right and after you save, the sidebar will look exactly like the list of tabs on the right side of this popup.
In addition to just dragging and dropping tabs, you can also create tab groups. These are like dropdowns within the sidebar so group a bunch of tags under one section.
Here's a video showing all of this:
Finally, when you are done with the changes, make sure to click on "Apply as default home page sidebar layout" at the bottom of the popup and click on "Save". The page will automatically refresh and you will be able to view the updated sidebar now.
You can always revert to the original sidebar by clicking on the gear icon and unchecking the "Apply as default home page side layout" or simply by clicking on "Simple mode". Note that Simple mode has precedence over the custom sidebar. If you are currently using a custom sidebar and toggle Simple Mode, the page will refresh and you will see the Simple Mode instead of the custom sidebar.
There are 30+ unique tabs on the homepage of TradesViz and you can order, and group in any way you want. Here are some examples/ideas:
While this may seem like a very small QoL feature, a lot of users - mostly indirectly have been asking for a simpler, more customized way to view their dashboards and we think this is the solution for it. So we are expecting a lot of usage of this feature (it is available to every user of TradesViz).
As a final note, we highly suggest using our "Simple Mode" first. The default view of tabs is already designed meticulously based on 10000s of user feedback and interactions such that it generally works well for everyone. New users particularly have to be careful in using this feature because you may deprive yourself of using features that may really be useful to you if you don't explore the tabs of TradesViz fully.
Therefore, before you jump to using custom sidebars, make sure you have a basic idea of all the tabs of TradesViz and carefully create a custom sidebar.
We have more features coming for you next month! We hope to keep improving TradesViz and providing you with the best trade journaling experience no matter where you trade from, what you trade, or how much experience you have. As always, let us know your feedback by emailing us at [email protected]!
